At It’s Interventional, we are proud to have a strong commitment to the environment and sustainability. As we continue to deliver innovative healthcare solutions, we recognise the importance of reducing our environmental impact and supporting the NHS’s ambition of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040. Our environmental strategy for 2025 is built on measurable actions and meaningful progress, ensuring we operate responsibly while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.

The NHS Evergreen Assessment is a tool designed to help suppliers align with NHS sustainability goals. Achieving Supplier Level 1 demonstrates a company’s commitment to meeting key environmental and ethical standards. For It’s Interventional, this involves providing transparency on our carbon emissions, sharing evidence of sustainable practices, and embedding social value within our operations. As we work towards this accreditation, we will actively engage with our supply chain and internal teams to ensure our values and processes support the NHS’s net zero ambitions. We hope to achieve Level 1 in 2025 and work towards Level 2.

The ISO 14001:2015 certification is the globally recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS). Maintaining this certification is central to our commitment to environmental stewardship. In 2025, we will continue to use our EMS to monitor and minimise our environmental impacts, ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, and pursue opportunities for continual improvement. This includes reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and adopting greener processes wherever possible.

Our Environmental Aims for 2025

By setting clear goals and tracking our progress, we aim to create a roadmap that not only supports our internal sustainability objectives but also aligns with the broader NHS net zero plan

To build on our progress, we have created a detailed carbon reduction plan for 2025. This plan outlines specific, measurable steps to reduce emissions across all areas of our operations.

Key focus areas will include:

  • Transitioning to more energy-efficient facilities and systems.
  • Minimising waste through improved recycling and material use.
  • Engaging with suppliers to prioritise sustainable procurement.
  • Exploring opportunities for renewable energy adoption.
  • Monitor & maintain our main sources of emissions – gas / electricity / water / packaging

We understand that achieving immediate reductions in emissions is not always possible, particularly as an SME. As part of our 2025 strategy, we will explore credible carbon offsetting options to address our 2024 emissions. This process will involve researching high-quality offset programs, such as nature-based carbon removal projects, renewable energy initiatives, or verified carbon credits, ensuring our approach aligns with global standards and delivers measurable benefits to the environment. This is an important step on our path to net zero.

We love where we work and want to give back to the community. Through 2025 we will set a clear plan on what we can offer to the community and wildlife in our surrounding areas as well as where our sales staff are based. We can engage a wide range of people through our social media channels and awareness campaigns. Bringing together clear action plans, whilst improving our corporate social value and being part of building a greener environment.

As an SME, we are agile and innovative, allowing us to make meaningful contributions to environmental sustainability while balancing our resources effectively. We see these commitments not just as a responsibility but as an opportunity to lead by example within the healthcare industry.

At It’s Interventional, we believe that sustainability is integral to our mission of improving healthcare outcomes. By collaborating with our team, customers, and suppliers, we are confident that our 2025 environmental strategy will drive meaningful progress toward a greener, more sustainable future.
