Intracranial Stenosis

Intracranial stenosis is a narrowing of the arteries supplying blood the brain. Generally caused by underlying atherosclerotic disease, this condition can increase the risk of ischaemic stroke. Treatment options include endovascular techniques to open up these narrowings using balloon angioplasty and implanting an intracranial stent to maintain vessel patency.
