HydroMARK breast markers are titanium clips embedded in a patented hydrogel carrier. Once implanted in tissue the hydrogel carrier begins to absorb fluid and swells to 200% of its original size in 24 hours. The gel becomes 90% water to provide HydroMARK with its characteristic hypoechoic appearance on ultrasound that lasts up to 12 months and remains visible even after neoadjuvent chemotherapy.
